Introduction
There have always been some people who lived without religious faith, even when it was unusual or dangerous to do so. It has been estimated that about 3% of the people in the world today do not believe in a god or gods, most of them in the developed world.
Beliefs
Some people never really think about God, but those who have, and have rejected religious belief, often give one or more of the following reasons: They have considered the questions religions claim to answer and found religious answers unsatisfactory.

Rules
Non-religious people do not have holy texts or traditional authorities to tell them how to live.
